As if CBD weren’t trendy enough — the American CBD market alone is predicted to be worth $1 billion by 2020 — CBD crystals are now a thing.
CBD crystals, also know as isolates, are purified extracts of CBD, or cannabidiol, a non-psychotropic compound found in the cannabis plant. That means the substance is comprised only of CBD, instead of CBD plus trace amounts of other molecules from the cannabis plant. CBD crystals are about as pure as the compound can get, containing about 98 or 99 percent isolated CBD.
CBD crystals or isolates are comparable to other extracted products made with THC, the main psychoactive compound in cannabis.
There are many ways to use CBD crystals and incorporate them into your daily routine. Because the substance is so pure, it’s easy to dose how much CBD you’re ingesting, based purely on weight.
Like with THC isolate, you can dab CBD isolate. Just like regular dabbing, you can use a wax vaporizer or an oil rig for a strong, quick-hitting dose of CBD. While the compound won’t get you high, you might feel an immediate sense of calm.
If dabbing isn’t quite your thing however, consider adding CBD crystals to your food or cosmetic products. Weight the crystals out and sprinkle them into a fatty substance you would use to cook with, be it coconut oil for vegan brownies or olive oil for some pasta sauce. You can also melt the crystals into a serum like avocado oil or cocoa butter to use in a homemade salve for your skin and joints. CBD is great for reducing inflammation.
You can also vape CBD isolate in a vaporizer pen, as you would vape any other cannabinoid formulation. Like with dabbing CBD, you won’t get high, but you might get an immediate hit of relaxation.
Whether you need to use CBD for aches and pains, anxiety, insomnia, or general wellness, it’s important to take it on a regular basis and let it build up in your system. Unlike THC, especially because you won’t feel its therapeutic effects in an instant way, CBD is more like any other vitamin or nutrient that you consistently take in as part of your wellness regimen.
